In this video, we will show you how to send a mail merge in Gmail using Yet Another Mail Merge (YAMM). Get YAMM for free at 🤍 Here is a preview of what we will go over: This video is for people who want to send personalized mass emails in Gmail to a group of people. Yet Another Mail Merge achieves this through a combination of Google Sheets and Gmail. No knowledge of HTML or any other code language is required. All you need is a Google Account. This includes a normal Gmail account and a Google Workspace account, among others. To run a mail merge, you will need four things. An email draft in Gmail that forms the basis of the email you want to send out, a Google Sheet with all the email addresses of recipients, personal information like names, and the Yet Another Mail Merge add-on. Google Sheets is the key part of this equation because it forms the database with all the information you need to run the mail merge. Go to Gmail and create the email draft. If you want to include personal information like a first name, include it with double curly brackets around the column title from your spreadsheet. It’ll look something like this: {{First Name}}. This is called a marker and it is a reference to your spreadsheet information. Save and close the email. If you are planning on using this template a lot, you can add a star beside this draft to make it more accessible from Yet Another Mail Merge in the future. You can now run your mail merge. Go to the Google Sheet with all your contacts. Click “Add-ons”, then “Yet Another Mail Merge”, and then finally click “Start mail merge”. Double-check to ensure the right column is listed as the email address column. Then enter the sender name and find the template you just created in your Gmail draft. Alternatively, you can choose a premade template from the YAMM team. Configuration options also include the ability to track emails, include attachments saved in Google Drive, and scheduling the mail merge for later. You can also send a test email to yourself. Once you are satisfied, click “Send Emails”. Not only that, but YAMM also allows you to track what happens with each one of those emails. In this video, we show you: 1- How to build a spreadsheet for your mail merge 2- How to prepare your email draft 3- How to trigger and send the mail merge, and 4- Track what happens with each one No knowledge of HTML or any other code language is required. All you need is a Google Account. This includes a regular Gmail account and a Google Workspace account, among others. Google Sheets is the key part of this equation because it forms the database with all the information you need to run the mail merge. Ensure that, at the very least, you have an email address for each recipient, and the headers are on the first row, which will make everything else much more manageable. Go to Gmail and create the email draft. If you want to include personal information like a first name, include it with double curly brackets around the column title from your spreadsheet. It’ll look something like this: {{First Name}}. This is called a marker, and it is a reference to your spreadsheet headers. You can now run your mail merge. Go to the Google Sheet and click “Add-ons”, then “Yet Another Mail Merge”, and then finally click “Start mail merge”. Double-check to ensure the right column is listed as the email address column. Then find the email draft you just created in your Gmail. Ensure that tracking is enabled and click on “Send emails”. As your recipients open and interact with your emails, you will see how your spreadsheet updates in real-time with the most up-to-date status. You can use Gmail to perform a mail merge. The advantage of Gmail over Outlook is you can use an Add-on that is free to send different attachments to different recipients and you can also schedule delivery. Everything you need is free. A Gmail account, chrome, and google sheets which is part of Google Docs. Microsoft Outlook 2016 and previous versions of Outlook allow you to perform a mail merge also, but if you want to send an attachment it is all of nothing. Meaning every recipient gets the same attachments or they don't get any attachments. Another feature I noticed when doing the mail merge with Gmail is I can even customize the subject line. That is impossible with Outlook. Exact steps: 1. Sign into your Gmail account using Google Chrome. 2. Click on the icon for Google apps in the top right. Go to Drive. 3. When Drive opens up, click on New in the top left and select Google Sheets. 4. Click Add-ons then select Get Add-ons. Type in "mail merge with attachments" and press Enter. 5. It should be the first one. To the right click on Free and select Allow and it will be installed. 6. Click back on Add-ons and now And make sure you subscribe to my channel! That’s not The NetHunt Way. But here it is anyway. Step 1. Download a copy of the Gmail Sheets Mail Merge spreadsheet; the link is here 🤍 Step 2. Fill out the column labelled Recipients with all the email addresses you want to target. Include their first name, last name at minimum, and any other data you need to include. Step 3. Open Gmail and create a draft of your bulk email. As you draft the body, use {{macro-commands}}. Step 4. Head back to the Sheet, and hit the Mail Merge button on the top toolbar. Then, Send Emails. When prompted, copy and paste the subject line you drafted in your message and hit OK. Look, the {{macro-commands}} have now populated. Step 5. The email should have been sent. #2 The New NetHunt Way There’s no better way to get a grip of your personalised email campaigns than with NetHunt Gmail CRM. Check it out 🤍 Step 1. Open the email campaign tab and click New. Create a campaign by naming it and choosing the folder where you want to pull your recipients from. Step 2. Make sure there are no duplicates in your emailing list, then compose your email draft. When finished, hit the Add Macros button. You can include absolutely any field populated in your NetHunt contact records. Step 3. Add an unsubscribe button before previewing your personalised campaign. We also recommend sending a test email, showing how it looks in a recipient’s inbox. Step 4. Before sending the campaign, select the delivery option.
